WiFi at SBA
SBA maintains more than 150+ wireless access points over 450,000 square feet of school space, as well as outdoor WiFi at our athletic complex, creek side, breezeway and playground areas for easy access of student devices.
Please refer back to this page throughout the semester for changes in connection procedures.
Teacher Connection - iPad, iPhone & iPod Touch:
Unlock your iOS device
Open "Settings" (gear icon)
Touch "Wi-Fi" in the first section of Settings
Select "SBA" under "CHOOSE A NETWORK"
Enter your Active Directory username and password (i.e. John Doe = jdoe, Password)
Click "Trust" on the certificate if displayed
Wait for the check mark to appear
Confirm connectivity by using a browser to visit a well know website like www.google.com
Android Users (slight differences may be present depending on Android version):
Unlock your Android Device
Open "Settings"
Touch "Wi-Fi"
Select "SBA" under "WiFi Networks"
Under "Identity" enter your Active Directory username (i.e. jdoe)
Under "Password" enter your Active Directory password (i.e. Seahawks15)
Note: You may need to scroll the screen to see the password field
Tap "Connect" (some versions show "Save")
Wait for the word "Connected" to appear under SBA
Confirm connectivity by using a browser to visit a well know website like www.google.com
Laptops - MacBooks:
Log in to your device
Open "System Preferences" (gear icon)
Open "Network" in the third section of Settings
Select "WiFi" on the left side if it is not already selected
Click the blue arrow dropdown list (right side) to bring up the network names found.
Select "SBA"
Enter your Active Directory username and password (i.e. John Doe = jdoe, Password)
Wait a moment for connection to be made. Status will say "Connected"
Confirm connectivity by using a browser to visit a well know website like www.google.com
Web Filter - SBA maintains a web filtering system used to help Teachers avoid undesirable content. If you receive a "Block" page from our Barracuda Web Filter, please work through the following:
Read the Error - some errors are just mistakes in keying in the URL and the error you are seeing is just because the page actually does not exist as keyed.
Login - if you think you be able to get to the site, try logging in with the Active Directory (Computer Account) credentials. This will identify you as a student and give you access to all the content and sites for SBA Teachers.
Report - If you need a site for an assignment you cannot get to, please notify the SBA Help Desk for review.
