Remote Access
Some software is specific to individual desktops. Since this is the case and some desire to work on materials from home, we allow the use of Remote Desktop Access through the private use of TeamViewer.
This is a two step process (once setting up the classroom desktop and once setting up your home computer) as follows:
Install - configure Desktop for remote access
Classroom/office Desktop - Go to www.teamviewer.com and click "Download for Free"
File Download - clicking the above link triggers the download of the install file
Launch Installation Program - launch TeamViewer.dmg from the Downloads directory
Follow the directions for an unattended access installation:
"Installation to access this computer remotely (unattended)"
Personal/non-commercial use"
Click "Connection" and then "Setup unattended access"
Create Computer name (i.e. SBA Desktop)
Create password (twice)
Use "Create a free TeamViewer account" to create an account using your SBA Email address as the user name
Install - configure Home computer (Mac or Windows)
Desktop or Laptop - Go to www.teamviewer.com and click "Download for Free"
File Download - clicking the above link triggers the download of the install file
Launch Installation Program - launch TeamViewer.dmg (Macs) or TeamViewer_setup_en.exe (Windows) from the Downloads directory
Follow the directions installation:
"Basic Installation"
"Personal/non-commercial use"
Click "Sign In"
Use same email address and password used on your classroom desktop
Double click your computer name (i.e. SBA Desktop)
Use the password created during unattended installation process
