Multi-Factor Authentication
Multi-Factor Authentication or MFA (Google calls is "2-Step Verification") is used to securely confirm it is only you accessing your SBA Gmail account. This is typically done through a 6-digit code texted to your cell phone.
The instructions below show you how to set this up and its use is required by all SBA Staff as of 10/30/2022.
Step By Step Instructions for enabling Google Multi-factor Authentication
Open your Gmail inside a browser of your choice
Click your profile picture / SBA Logo in the upper right portion of Gmail
Click “Manage your Google Account”
On the left-hand column, please click “Security”
In the middle of the screen click “2-Step Verification”
Then click “Get Started”
Type in your Gmail Account Password
Add your Cell Phone Number and click “Next”
Google will text you a code, enter the code in on this next window and click “Next”
Click “Turn On”
Once complete, you may now close out of any new windows or tabs that were opened during this process. The first time you log in using your Gmail account (new browser, new phone, etc.) you will be prompted to enter the 6-digit code you receive as a text from Google to verify who you are.
Please Note: If you are NOT able to use SMT Text as a method you may need to click "Try another method"
